Community, culture and education events
Two things: bringing Vietnamese cultural performances and educational content into Czech events, and taking on professional event production — the fee funds the rest of what VietID does.
Vietnamese culture inside Czech events
Czech cities, schools, companies and organisations already have their own event calendars and their own audiences. Building a parallel event and inviting Czech people over is the hardest route; bringing Vietnamese performances and content into the programme they already run means the audience is already in the room.
VietID handles the matching: finding the artists, speakers and content that fit each programme, and working with the organisers in Czech.
Professional event production
VietID takes events on end to end: running order, supplier coordination, bilingual hosting, logistics and communications.
This is paid work, and we say so plainly. The income goes into the association’s running costs, appears in the public financial report, and is not distributed to any individual.
The community’s own events
- Talks at universities — professionals of Vietnamese descent tell real stories, Czech students ask directly.
- An annual forum — publishing a report and data on what the community contributes.
- A business forum — for Vietnamese people running businesses in Czechia.
- Parent-and-child groups: 10–15 pairs, facilitated by a bilingual psychologist.
- Career meetings — one-to-one links between generation 2.0 professionals and 14–20 year olds.
One constraint
Taking on production does not mean taking on anything. Our guiding principles are explicit: no events without real substance, and no commercialising of charitable work. Paid work and charity run on separate tracks, with separate books.
