Statutes

Statutes and internal rules

We publish these so everyone knows the rules in advance: who can join, how we treat each other, who speaks for the association, and how money moves.

Membership

A member can be an individual, an organisation or a partner from another country. Anyone may join, regardless of gender, nationality or belief.

  • To join: agree to the VietID statutes and commit to the rules on ethics, conduct and confidentiality.
  • What members get: to take part in the association’s projects, or run them.
  • Ending membership: a member may leave at any time. Where rules are broken, the association gives notice and ends the membership.

Ethics and conduct

  • Courtesy and respect in both words and actions. Aggressive language or behaviour in the face of disagreement is not accepted.
  • Internal information stays internal until the association’s spokesperson makes it public.
  • Anyone acting in the name of VietID keeps to the association’s standards of conduct.
  • Honesty and equal treatment. Fraud, harassment and abuse are prohibited.

Confidentiality

Personal data, partner records and project documents may not be copied or shared outside the association. The commitment continues after membership ends.

Assets and finances

  • Shared assets — supplies, equipment, facilities — are used only for the approved purpose.
  • Every expense needs a valid receipt and prior approval under the rules.

Communication and representation

  • Only the communications team or an authorised person speaks to the media.
  • Negative content about the association is not posted on social media.
  • Images not produced by the association always carry their source.
  • Photographs of participants or internal activities are not published without permission.
  • Members’ personal social media must not damage the association’s standing.

Stories sent in by readers

Stories in the Stories section are the personal voice of their authors, not an official position of the association. Every piece is read by two people before publication, and the author can withdraw it at any time.
