Programme

Bridging the generation gap

Small groups of parents and children sit together with a bilingual psychologist facilitating, so that what stays unsaid at home can finally be said.

Who it is for

Vietnamese families in Czechia with children aged 12–22. Parent and child come together — the programme does not take one side alone, because the distance sits between them, not inside one of them.

How it runs

  • Groups of 4–6 families, meeting regularly over a cycle.
  • Each session lasts about two hours, led by someone who speaks both Vietnamese and Czech.
  • The first session is introductions and ground rules; later ones follow topics the families themselves raise.
  • Nothing is filmed and nothing from the sessions is published.

Why a bilingual facilitator

When a parent speaks Vietnamese and a child answers in Czech, most misunderstanding is not in the content but in the shading. Only someone who holds both languages keeps each side’s real meaning instead of flattening it into translation.

Joining

Places each cycle are limited because the group has to stay small. Apply early so we can group by age.
